Capstone Change Project Resources – Implementing a Standardized Fall Risk Assessment Protocol
The proposed change proposal entails implementing a standardized fall risk assessment protocol. My strategic plan identified three thematic areas that should be addressed. The first area is training interdisciplinary team members on the importance and relevance of collaboration. The second aspect is training and educating interdisciplinary team members on the appropriate use of health technology. Lastly, the third aspect is formulating an organizational standardized risk assessment protocol and training interdisciplinary team members on its use and interpretation.
To implement the change proposal, various resources should be allocated adequately:
- Firstly, training materials and equipment such as handouts and computers to facilitate PowerPoint presentations should be available. Training materials and equipment will equip interdisciplinary team members with pertinent information about effective collaboration, effective use of technology, and interpretation of the standardized risk assessment tool (Gselamu et al., 2019).
- Secondly, human resources should be allocated adequately. In this context, adequate interdisciplinary team members will be involved in screening patients and implementing individualized care plans. A shortage of human resources is associated with fatigue and burnout (Winter et al., 2020). This is likely to impede the implementation of the capstone change proposal.
- Thirdly, monetary resources should be allocated to facilitate acquiring additional healthcare technology and maintaining existing technology. In this context, additional barcode technology should be acquired. Furthermore, the existing electronic health record system should undergo maintenance. This will entail hardware and software maintenance.
- Fourthly, adequate time should be allocated to facilitate the implementation of the capstone project. In this context, efficient time allocation will promote adequate planning, entailing goal setting, identifying milestones, and evaluating the capstone project.
